Why Joined Up Rehab ?

The horse has not changed in the past few hundred years but the access to information has escalated with the opportunity to find a mesmerizing array of different philosophies on how best to manage and train him/her.

In a simple and transparent way Joined Up Rehab  combines elements of many management and training philosophies connecting the science of movement analysis and functional rehabilitation around a hub of  Physiotherapy modalities to optimisation performance.

It maintains common threads through the clinical reasonings of movement assessment, treatment, rehabilitation and maintenance of individual animals performing the functions expected of them in the context of the wider equestrian industry.

It links the human and the rider/handler, using anatomical knowledge to hypothesis how one affects the other and adds findings of sound scientific research as it becomes available.

It advocates the collaboration of a multidisciplinary team of people who add their expertise to help individual cases and ultimately develop the theory to share with other practitioners.

Finally it connects the old with the new, encouraging development and research, embracing new technologies to further our understanding and evidence how to interact to ensure its horse welfare.

Sometimes it feels like a Jack of all trades master of non, but the aim is to continue to make connections and find the commonalities that together will develop an ever evolving, increasingly robust protocol, combining expertise to  raise the bar for the next generation of Practitioners so they can join up the connection with this wonderful animal.

                                                                                        It's all about the horse!
